SOURCE is Running for a Top Prize at the World’s Biggest Sustainability Film Festival

The 6th Big Syn International Film Festival is screening a dazzling array of nearly 150 films that have been selected from hundreds of feature films, shorts, documentaries, animations, micro-shorts and charity films from over 120 countries. Amongst others, a notable film that is screening at the festival is SOURCE, a mind blowing movie on the science behind meditation. Directed and Written by Melissa Tittl from Hathor studios, this movie follows the work of International teacher and researcher Dr Joe Dispenza and a group of scientists from UCSD and Innerscience to reveal the truth about meditation and our bodies.

The concept reflects that in academia, the quantity and quality of a researcher’s publications play a crucial role in their reputation, career progression, tenure decisions, and overall success.

If you’ve been a subject in any of our recent studies, or you’ve seen one of our research presentations at an event, then you probably heard about FLIP. We are using the FLIP app to record a daily “video diary” of the research subjects’ experiences during the week-long events. The roughly 6-7 recordings from thousands of subjects serve as a unique record of the evolution of the human experience. Many describe these events as transformative, and our research aims to quantify transformation using this library as a unique way to inform and evolve the meditative practice.

As a kid I struggled with various health challenges, especially gut issues, allergies, and headaches. I tried Western medicine with little results. Eventually I started researching on my own and tried all sorts of diets to improve my health, and I learned about the concept of epigenetics, which meant to me that I might actually be able to overcome these issues by modifying something in my life, and I thought it was all about diet. I became obsessed with diets and food for several years and struggled because this is only a part of the picture.
